IEC “Wasted-to-Energy”

“Solid Wastes” are another treasure resource to generate electricity, thanks to highly advance technology.

Recently, the International Engineering PCL or IEC will open “Municipality Solid Waste-to-Energy Power Plant” in Hat Yai of Songkhla Province on November 13, 2014 and the Minister of Natural Resource and Environment shall be the chairman in its launching ceremony.

This is the most significant step under GIDEC Co.,Ltd, which jointly invests with Electricity Generating PCL or EGCO, to develop alternative energy produced from solid wastes and help decrease pollution from sewage problem in Thailand.

Additionally, the project has been supported by the government to generate and distribute electricity with production capacity at 6.7 MW, and receiving Electricity Purchase Agreement from Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA)or adder at THB 3.5/unit for 7 year and 30 years right of Hat Yai Solid Waste Disposal contract.

The power plant based on Ash Melting Gasification technology, using Energy Recovery reactor at 6MW capacity and has been already tested network system with PEA.

When the MSW power plant starts generating, it is believed that this newest power plant will dispose solid waste in the area efficiently and will distribute electricity to PEA’s grids, returning benefit to citizens.
