IEC moves into the energy and utilities sector
The International Engineering Public Company Limited (IEC) has submitted a request to change industry to the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), which formerly from the information technology industry (Information and Communications Technology sector) to resource industry (Energy and Utilities sector). This industry change is to be consistent and reflect the business of the Company, which is the main income, has come from renewable energy revenue. Currently, SET has approved the industry change, which will take effect from 4 July 16 onwards.
IEC currently has total sale of electricity to the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) as 22.49 MW, which consists of three solar power with total sell capacity at 9.09 MW, one waste-to-energy power plant at Hat Yai with sell capacity at 5.4 MW, and one biomass power plant at Sakaeo with sell capacity at 8 MW.
In addition, IEC has expanded its business by investing in biogas power plant at Nong Ree, Kanchanaburi province. The biogas power plant at Nong Ree has the capacity to sell electricity at 3 MW and is expected to start commercial operation Q2/2017. Comprising the sell capacity of Nong Ree power plants, the total sell capacity for IEC will be at 25.49 MW.
IEC is confident that this change to the energy and utilities sector will reflect clear awareness of the investors toward the Company’s business, which will continue to grow sustainably in the future.
